Collected Thoughts on ZBrush, Part 2

Okay, maybe Zbrush isn't too bad. Maybe.

Result of the train ride home:

Work in progress; still working out kinks, understanding workflow, and learning things via numerous youtube videos. It's a start?

Also: lolwut feet.

Relearning painting

It's so...refreshing having all technical based classes this semester, unlike in the fall, where it was all concept all the time!. It's been a while since I touched oil painting, but I've missed it so! I've got a lot of brushing up (ha!) to do, but Compared to one year ago, though, I think it's safe to say I'm in a better place...gotta keep working hard!

Here's an (incomplete) painting of my good buddy Steven and then a self-portrait (hnng--); my mouth looks a little wonky. Both of these are between 2-3 feet tall.

Awesome discovery of the week: ultramarine blue underpainting. Makes 'dem oranges TOXIC (and glowy-like)!

Collected thoughts on Zbrush

Also applicable to other aspects of life.
(I should probably...go back to actually working in Zbrush.)

M-m-m-maya! Part 2!

This week's assignment was to model some sort of character:

It's a little hard to see some things, but I think the profile looks the best. :] It also had a little bit more detail at one point, but the file got...corrupted. And then bedtime happened.

Can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Maya? Granted, I'm not really making anything phenomenal, but it's just so....straightforward. And it makes so much sense!

I can't wait to to learn mooooaaaarrr!
